Walyunga National Park

the whole group
Although spring is still a few weeks away, more and more often we have a pretty sunny days and most especially these nice days are at the weekends. While we haven't planned nothing extra for this weekend, it came very handy that Vojtech plans trips for every weekend. So today we will join them.
They choose a trip to a remote national park - Walyunga. It is just over half an hour's drive north of Perth. It looks like the weather today is going to be pleasant, sunny and quite warm. At the entrance to the park we have to pay the fee for the car, but here it is very strange. Or better said, it's great here. You pay in fact in an abandoned booth, no one checks whether you've paid or not, but the people here are very honest and nice so everyone pays a few dollars to enter the park, because they know that the money will be used for its maintenance. So there are clean toilets and clean trash bins everywhere.
We had several routes as an option but I must say that it was rather an easy type of routes. Therefore, we chose the largest circle route, which was about ten kilometers  Since we've been to similar hike with Slavka already, this time I did not take any changes and I put my hiking boots on immediately so I was well protected from huge ants. Well, anyway it didn't really help me too much. Ants are here really, really aggressive, you just go down the road, where they also move and they immediately climb over your boots and then bite into the legs as much as they can. So anyway, I ended up with several bites in the end.

At about half the route we had a short break for lunch, and even along the way we managed to meet some living creatures - that is, apart from the aforementioned ants. We saw wild kangaroos and a yellow-green parrots in the trees. It looks very nice, because the kangaroos are very curious and they look out what's going on and the whole thing looks very cute.
If there wouldn't be the red-brown soil, one would have thought of it as we would be somewhere on a trip at home in Slovakia. Nature here is truly nice. We are already looking forward to spring, when everything starts to bloom. Apparently there is a large variety of flowers so I'm looking forward to see that.
