Gravity Discovery Centre

Today we went on a short trip to the Gravity Discovery Centre  about an hour's drive north of Perth. It describes some physics facts using an examples. Magnetism, wave propagation, optics, gravity, the universe. It was quite interesting for a few hours, but some things I already do not remember from the school, so sometimes I was really struggling, what they were trying to explain with the model. But as the half-day trip that was not bad.

First we went to the leaning tower, from which you could throw down balloons filled with water, which is the test of gravity. This was actually pretty simple operation. Later inside in the center we checked some other  models, we could also look at the sun and its eruptions. Outside there was a space walk - one kilometer long walk our solar system with all the planets in scale.
It was too short, but quite enlightening trip. We used our little brains a bit, so I'd say we have enough of these activities for another year.
